Farnsworth Group provided retro-commissioning services for the Mental Health Domiciliary at the West Palm VA Health Care System. The project’s main objectives were to upgrade controls, refine control sequences to enhance energy efficiency, and recommend equipment replacement for systems that cannot meet future pandemic operation mode requirements.
Additionally, Farnsworth Group evaluated equipment that needed replacement to ensure it meets operational requirements during future pandemic scenarios. By addressing these aspects, the project improved the mental health domiciliary at the West Palm VA Health Care System’s overall functionality, energy efficiency, and operational resilience.
Farnsworth Group provided commissioning services for the development, design, and construction of a state-of-the-art 150,731 SF Veterans Affairs healthcare facility. This new clinic provides essential space for mental health and residential health services, prioritizing a warm, welcoming, and therapeutic environment. Conveniently located near I-75 and accessible from Hwy 301 on a sprawling 20-acre site, the facility features outdoor elements, including gardens, courtyards, and walking paths, enhancing the overall experience for patients, guests, and employees. Our commissioning professionals reviewed the design and ensured the quality installation of critical building systems, including the building enclosure, HVAC, controls, plumbing, and emergency power systems.
In the heart of Wesley Chapel, Farnsworth Group played a key role in commissioning a new hospital and an attached medical office building. The hospital, spanning 236,162 SF, opened its doors in 2023, featuring 86 licensed beds and a 20-room Emergency Department. The adjacent medical building, covering 85,377 SF, seamlessly connects to the hospital on two levels, providing easy access for patients and staff. The campus offers parking for 795 vehicles.
Our commissioning services covered a range of critical systems, including mechanical, electrical (lighting, emergency power, and distribution), building automation, fire alarm, smoke control, security, and building enclosure. The Veterans Affairs Health Care System in West Palm Beach, FL, is a 10-story, 400-bed facility that spans 77 acres. Since 2022, Farnsworth Group has worked on more than 25 IDIQ task orders to provide various upgrades for an estimated $500M modernization effort. Our services have included developing an energy center master plan to create a road map for modernizing the hospital with new post-COVID guidelines, building a 3-D “digital twin” of the building in Revit to assist with asset management and energy monitoring systems, 3-D scanning (survey), wayfinding, life safety, structural analysis and design, MEP design, and architectural upgrades.
The Estates at Acqualina introduced an unparalleled luxury residential experience to Sunny Isles Beach. Situated on the pristine sands of Sunny Isles Beach, The Estates at Acqualina comprises two 50-story luxury condo towers.
This type of high-rise construction showcases Farnsworth Group’s understanding of working on vertical construction with limited space for mechanical rooms and the need to maintain adequate service clearances around equipment when little ceiling or floor space is available. Issues identified early on in the project included the incorrect use of three-way valves in the chilled water system.
