Our engineers incorporate these concepts into workable solutions for your community. Our wastewater services can include long-term planning; upgrades and expansion of existing treatment facilities; and installation of collection, process treatment, and control and monitoring systems.
Wastewater Treatment
Over the past several years, Farnsworth Group has completed numerous retrofit projects at established wastewater treatment facilities. These upgrades and repairs were generally aimed at improving and modernizing existing processes by implementing updated versions of proven technologies—while maximizing the use of existing infrastructure to enhance cost-effectiveness, restore or increase treatment capacity, and reduce operator maintenance requirements. Where a major treatment capacity upgrade is necessary based on planning, analysis, growth, and development projections or where the existing infrastructure has aged beyond practical repair or upgrade, we have implemented single process component replacements up to complete new automated wastewater treatment facilities.
Wastewater Collection
Many of our communities have sanitary and storm sewer maintenance, replacement, and expansion needs and we have been successful in assisting with meeting these needs, both on short-term emergency and planned capital projects. Team members have experience working with clients performing investigations, inspections, assessments, and providing recommendations for repairs to sanitary and storm sewer collection systems. Our team has also worked with clients in developing long term control plans (LTCP) to reduce infiltration and inflow into combined sewer systems using methods including separation of combined sewer and installation of wet weather flow storage lagoons and wet weather flow overflow structures for controlled release after the first flush.
