Valley-Wide Health Systems revitalized the historic former Alamosa County Courthouse through an adaptive reuse renovation that transformed the landmark building into a modern community health campus.
The project consolidated a broad range of healthcare and behavioral health services into a single facility, creating a centralized destination for care within Colorado’s San Luis Valley. Services provided at the campus include primary care, behavioral health, physical therapy, substance use disorder treatment, peer support programs, respite care, and intensive behavioral health services. The renovated facility expands access to integrated healthcare while preserving a significant community asset.
Farnsworth Group provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and low-voltage engineering services for the renovation and conversion of the historic courthouse into a modern healthcare environment. Building systems were designed to support the facility’s diverse clinical and behavioral health functions while improving energy performance, occupant comfort, and long-term operational reliability. The project also incorporated geothermal heating and cooling infrastructure to support efficient building operations and enhance sustainability goals.
