Peoria Office Relocates to Warehouse District

PEORIA, IL … Farnsworth Group, a national full-service engineering and architecture firm, announced today that its Peoria, IL, consulting office is relocating to the City of Peoria’s Warehouse District.

Farnsworth Group’s Peoria office, currently located at 7707 N. Knoxville Avenue, will be moving to 100 Walnut in the former Murray Building located on the corner of Walnut and Water Street. Farnsworth Group will be joining a number of other companies that have been located in the Warehouse District for many years and who have helped pave the way for redevelopment. Farnsworth Group will be one of the first corporate entities to locate in Peoria’s emerging Warehouse District following the City’s renewed focus and economic support of the area that has included improvements such as the Washington Street redevelopment and TIGER II Complete Streets project, and the formation of the Peoria Downtown Development Corporation (DDC).

“We couldn’t be more excited to be moving into Peoria’s Warehouse District,” said Karen Jensen, Farnsworth Group President and Chief Executive Officer.  “We hope to be one of the first of many new businesses that want to call the Warehouse District their home.  We envision a bright future for this area of Peoria – one that will generate economic opportunities, and vibrant places for people to live, work and recreate. This is an exciting time for our Company as well as the City.”

Farnsworth Group’s Peoria office has a staff of nearly 80 employees that will be located on the second floor of the four-story Murray Building, which is also being renovated to accommodate mixed retail and residential units.  The Company plans to move into its new office space in mid-2016.

In addition to its current design projects underway in Peoria’s downtown and Warehouse District area, Farnsworth Group has provided professional design services for the Washington Street reconstruction, conducted numerous surveys and assessments of existing warehouse buildings, and been active participants in various warehouse district committees and organizations. The firm also supports the significant work of the DDC and its continuing efforts to lead the revitalization of Peoria’s downtown.
