Georgia State Capitol Building Renovation Hydronic Investigation

This project is an extension of the ongoing Georgia State Capitol Renovation project through 2027. One of the primary goals of the renovation project is to upgrade building MEP systems. Specific to this investigation, a significant goal of the renovation is to replace electric heat, used for building heating, with hydronic heating coils. Another primary goal is to prepare the Capitol mechanical systems for CHW/HHW service from the new Legislative Office Building (LOB) Central Utility Plant (CUP), slated to begin serving the Capitol in the Fall of 2026.

This investigation assessed the current operating condition of the Capitol HHW and CHW systems, including Pre-Test, Adjust, and Balance (TAB), to provide recommendations and better inform the Owner, Design, and Construction teams for the Georgia State Capitol Renovation and Legislative Office Building projects.
