Sycamore Embarks on a New Era of Recreation
Farnsworth Group has completed a two-phase design process with the Sycamore Park District to transform 23 acres of undeveloped property into a multi-purpose recreation campus. The first phase of the design process included Farnsworth Group’s architects and landscape architects facilitating input from four different steering committees to ensure public feedback was incorporated into the designs. Once this input was gathered, the design team prepared detailed design development drawings for the campus which included a new 37,700 SF recreation center, a community sled hill, a children’s splash pad, and a large dog park. Detailed preliminary cost estimates were also created as part of this phase of the design.
The second phase of the project was the preparation of detailed construction documents for the recreation center, sled hill, splash pad, and dog park. As part of this phase, Farnsworth Group carefully worked with the District to ensure the final design aligned with the budget developed in phase one.
